Books for Business Storytelling. Yeah, it’s a thing. We do it well!

Recently, FBP was faced with this question: “Why publish a book when a website or video work just fine to tell our story?” That’s a great question, no denying that.

Pithy is a bad word, when it comes to storytelling. Though, that’s just what you get with most websites and videos. A lot of style and very little substantial information. Pithy columns, bullets and blurbs that scratch the surface of your business’ history, brand or culture. Sure, it gets the point across but that’s it.

But how was that calamity in 1987 resolved? Did it help develop the culture? Does that explain the brand? With books you can delve into those questions, something that isn’t appropriate for a video or website.

With a book pithy isn’t what you get, especially with a Foresight writer. You’re able to take a deeper dive into what makes your business, your brand, unique and great. People will appreciate your more candid approach. After all, you are asking them to do business with you, putting their assets at risk. In B2B practices, you know relationships are everything. Books are trust-building tools, creating a great foundation for your business relationships.

Can you hand someone a website? No, not really. You can a book. When you stand to leave the conference table of a company across country after speaking at length about this and that to do with your product or service, a book enables you to leave a more lasting impression behind. In your prospects’ hands, you are putting everything they need in order to establish a strong relationship with your company. You are reminding your prospect that you are a person with a team of people behind you. A book enables you to immediately say this is us, this is what we do and we want you to be a part of our story.

Books provide a unique, warm intimacy that at website or video can’t provide. Plus, any old Joe can produce a website, but to develop a book, that says you are quality minded and have the assets to make sure a job gets done right.

Alright, alright…. You might be thinking, “But can’t a book about a company be so dreadfully boring that people will use the pages more as a pillow than for reading?” Well, that’s where FBP steps in to save the day. We have ghostwriters, talented storytellers, that can craft a book no one will want to put down. Contact us today to find out how we do it.

Ghostwriting – Is that even legal?

One of the many factors that makes Foresight different than other publishers is our process for creating the perfect sales tool to boost your brand. Our promise to our clients is to come alongside them and help them create a book, a branding tool. They can use it for recruitment, to gain new clientele, give away to employees and families, or whatever else they desire. But we know you’re too busy to write a book,  which is why we have a professional team of ghostwriters ready to write it for you.

Hold the phone. Did they say ghostwriter? What’s that?

Glad you asked! A ghostwriter is a professional writer who takes your idea – your story, background, expertise – and writes it down for you. It’s like having your own scribe! It’s still your name on the cover, but you get the luxury of sitting back while the writer takes your idea and develops it into a book.

Someone write my book for me? That’s plagiarism!

On the contrary, it’s actually a popular practice among “celebrity” authors. Ghostwriting is the open secret of the publishing world. Publishers use them often but don’t advertise them to the public, for good reason. Some readers feel as if their trust has been broken when they find out the book they’re reading wasn’t actually written by the person whose name is on the cover. We get it – the magic is gone and the curtain has been pulled back. But the idea still belongs to the author; our writers merely pen it. So there is no plagiarism or deception involved at all.

OK, but how does it work?

Ghostwriters are like investigative journalists digging up information for an extended story. Writers will perform a series of in-depth interviews where they collect information from the author (i.e. you) regarding details of how the book should sound, how it should be written, and, most importantly, the message the book should convey to readers.

This process is very much a collaborative effort between two professionals in specialized fields. The author, the creator, is the source of the information. They are the only person who knows all there is to know about the content of the book. For example, only a real estate agent knows the top ten sure-fire ways to sell a home in thirty days. Though he or she may know all the information on this topic, he probably doesn’t know much about publishing or how to write an effective book. On the other side of the spectrum, the writer knows nothing about how to sell a home but knows exactly how to put together a captivating narrative. When these two professionals come together, an effective marketing book is created and the sole ownership belongs to the author.

But why would you want to write something without credit?

This is a question our writers get a lot. From the outside ghostwriting looks like an unrewarding profession. All the work, no byline. But we do it because we truly believe in the power of words on one’s brand. Whether it’s the corporate legacy of a family-owned business, how one professional worked his way up the ladder of success, or a detailed how-to guide that expands on your particular expertise,  we believe there is an inspirational story in everyone that can be used to boost their brand. And we want to tell it.

Hello, world! We’re Foresight Book Publishing, and we’re here to tell your story

Stories are the roots of humanity stretching from our present to our past. Just as humanity’s stories help to guide our progress, the stories of your business or brand can help shape your future.

At Foresight Book Publishing, we make it possible for you to capture stories. In today’s hectic world, it’s hard to pause and document in a book the stories you want to showcase or preserve. Our CEO Candido Segarra, a successful entrepreneur, knows through authoring two books of his own that writing is a dreadfully time consuming process.

After putting out fires, balancing the books or brainstorming, finding time in the day to write your story can be hard or just unappealing. Candido created the solution by putting together FBP’s team of creative individuals! We are writers, editors, designers and other creatives that enable you to outsource the creation of books for brand-storytelling and thought-leadership development. In fact, we can develop a book of the highest standards in under 90 days!

Websites are pretty and also pretty shallow

Foresight can write your book for you, no strings attached, but books are supposed to be relics of the past, mere dust collectors replaced by the digital world. Right?

While Foresight can’t protect books from dust bunnies, we can assure you books are very much part of our present and future. The U.S. publishing industry generated $28 billion in 2015, according to AAP. Money talks and there are tons of voices carrying on about books!

We at Foresight understand what’s needed to drive success is trust! Whether you are a manufacturer, a politician or a professional with unique services, you must build a relationship on a foundation of trust in order to gain new business or maintain established bonds. Yes, you can share your story on your website, but usually you’ll only scratch the surface of your story, just look at every other “about us” page.

Foresight develops books that enable readers to take a deeper dive into your culture, experience, knowledge and other aspects of your story that you wish to share. Books are high-quality tools we can help you target to achieve the success you desire.

Our process is designed around you

That’s all I’m willing to share about our inner workings for now! Again, we can develop your book in less than 90 days. That’s your average 150 to 200 page read! We aren’t wizards with wands, but we are a group of talented individuals that love books and business.

We understand what your book means to you. It is an extension of you and your business or principles that you put directly in the hands of an audience. That encourages us to strive for greatness and quality in every project.

Located in Chattanooga, Tenn., Foresight is in the Southeast’s center. We aren’t far from some of the country’s cradles of new business and high growth. That, and our small size, makes collaborating with us on a project a breeze. I encourage you to contact us and schedule a conference call, even if you’ve never considered a book.

You could be initiating your business’s next big thing.
